In "12 Designs for Circularity", THE UPCYCL matches design companies with continuous industrial waste streams from manufacturing companies. This forms the foundation for circular value chain collaborations and designs developed from New Waste materials.
THE UPCYCL is a B2B platform for companies to match and trade their endless streams of unused industrial waste (New Waste). By connecting industries and waste material flows, we reduce waste, virgin material consumption, and CO₂ emissions.
One company's waste is another company's treasure.
In collaboration with manufacturing companies: LINDAB, KLINGER DANMARK, TCM, RAVENDO, SUPERWOOD, STOKO PLAST, DAFA, PFP, JEVI, and SALLING AUTOGENBRUG, THE UPCYCL identifies waste materials with upcycling potential – materials we classify as New or Old Waste.
The design companies – Underflod, Squarely Copenhagen, Højer Møbler, FÓLK Reykjavik, Wecycle Furniture, Better Weather, NORNORM, Michael Palsgaard, URBAN ELEMENTS, Relife studio, and LABS – engage in a circular learning and creation process. Together, they form a curated collection of circular designs, each incorporating upcycled materials from one or more of the industrial companies.
